Protect the Right of Self Defense

With the growing threat of terrorist, criminals and illegal immigrants that do not respect our laws the right to protect one's self, family and property is fundamental to survival.  Thankfully if someone has limited resources they can open carry a gun in Mississippi.  No matter what the federal government does or what a federal court rules this right will always be fundamental to a free people.  

The right to carry a concealed weapon should be available to every law abiding trained citizen.  The government fees for a permit should be small  because a higher fee deprives lower income citizens the right to defend themselves.  People that are poor are more likely to live in a high crime area and need to defend themselves.  

We also need the State of Mississippi to develop standards for Conceal Carry Permit Training Classes.  There are dozens of laws related to the legal use of a firearm but current law only requires instructors to cover a few of them.  For the safety of the permit holder and public every law related to the lawful discharge of a firearm must be covered by the instructors before permits are issued.
